Why Pilates?
Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise focused on strength, stability, control, mobility, and quality of movement. Don't let "low impact" fool you, though—a well-designed Pilates class can challenge muscles you didn't even know you had.
At Premiere Forme, you can experience Pilates in two ways: Reformer and mat classes.
Experience Reformer Pilates
Reformer Pilates takes the principles of traditional Pilates and adds a specialized piece of equipment called a reformer. Using adjustable spring resistance, straps, and a moving carriage, the reformer creates hundreds of possibilities for strengthening and challenging your body.
Reformer Pilates can help you develop:
Full-body strength
Core stability and control
Balance and coordination
Mobility and flexibility
Better body awareness and movement quality
Because resistance and exercises can be modified, Reformer Pilates can be approachable for beginners while still providing plenty of challenge as you gain strength and experience.
Small Classes. More Attention.
One of the things that sets Premiere Forme apart is the size of our Reformer classes.
With just seven reformers, classes stay intentionally small. That gives your instructor more opportunity to help with positioning, technique, modifications, and progressions throughout your workout.
You get the motivation and energy of a group class with more individualized attention than you'd typically find in a large fitness class.
Prefer the Mat? We've Got You Covered.
You don't need a reformer to experience the benefits of Pilates.
Our mat Pilates classes use controlled bodyweight movements and other exercises to develop core strength, stability, mobility, and muscular endurance.
Mat classes are a great option on their own or as a complement to your Reformer practice—and they offer a different kind of challenge than working on the equipment.
New to Pilates? You're Welcome Here.
Your first Reformer class can look a little intimidating. There are springs, straps, a moving carriage and, admittedly, a few exercises that may have you wondering where exactly all of your limbs are supposed to go.
That's normal.
Our instructors will introduce you to the equipment and guide you through the movements so you can focus on learning, moving well, and enjoying your workout.
And if you'd rather start on the mat? That's completely fine, too.
You don't need Pilates experience. You don't need to be especially flexible. You just need to be ready to move.
